Facebook is world wide the most used social medium. It’s often praised for it’s role in news gathering and freedom of speech. But we found out that there’s a major downside to the site. A relatively new thing is that you can share your activities like walking the dog, having coffee or shopping. So far so good, but apparently it’s not possible to have an alcoholic beverage on Facebook. We were shocked when a friend of the Lords of the Drinks on Facebook claimed she was having hot chocolate. She explained that apparently you can chose from many drinks, but beer or wine are not among them. How very uptight. Who comes up with this retarded ideas? And this very medium is pissed off that it’s being blocked in China since 2008. Hypocrisy, nothing more and nothing less.
Facebook was created in the United States, ‘land of the free and home of the brave’. Well apparently 80 years after the end of the prohibition in 1933 the brave are still not free to share with the world they are having a beer. Facebook has 1,11 billion users from all over the world, some highly intelligent. But the creators of the medium feel the need to pamper them nevertheless. We hereby hand out a yellow card and hope they will change their policy as soon as possible. Please like us on Facebook if you support us in this matter.
